What is a Mandala and how are they associated to chakras?

What is a mandala?

The circle is an ancient symbol of wholeness, balance and unity. It is found in the art, architecture, and healing rituals of ancient, indigenous, and contemporary cultures worldwide. Carl Jung, the Swiss psychiatrist and founder of depth psychology, utilized mandalas personally as well as clinically as a means of inner exploration. Jung believed the circle was the eternal symbol of the Self, our true nature. He discovered that creating mandalas brought one closer to the essence of the Self and offered insight into psychological and spiritual issues.

What are Chakras?
Chakras are energy centers within the body, centers of organization that receive, assimilate and transmit life force energy. Our physical, mental and emotional states depend on the state of each of these energy points.

Our States of consciousness and personal identities relating to the chakras are physical, emotional, egoic, social, creative, archetypal, universal.
The 4 energetic currents dependent on the chakras are liberation and manifestation, reception and expression
The archetypal element related to each chakra are earth, water, fire, air, sound, light and thought.

Chakra Mandala: A Path to Wholeness is another means of healing our many dimensions and our chakras. It is a holistic experience as it engages body, mind, and spirit in a meditative, creative process. I integrate imagination, the soul's expression, and carefully selected positive keywords to support the transformation and help facilitate your reflective process.Your chakra mandala may illuminate lost dreams, energy patterns, hidden talents, and the artist within.

Chakra Mandala: A Path to Wholeness may be experienced as a private, single experience or incorporated into body/energy work sessions to learn more about the mind/body dynamic. I offer unique opportunities in art based training workshops and class formats. Creating chakra mandalas is an appropriate activity for organizations in retreat and employee engagement and self discovery workshops.
